Penguin Tiny #2 by Jeanie Schiff
Jeanie Schiff graduated from Pratt Institute in 1974 with a degree in Sculpture. She discovered papier-mâché as a great medium and easy to work with at home. For many years, while living in NYC, she sold her sculptures through galleries and private commissions.
“I have created many varied animals (zebra, giraffe, monkeys, birds, etc.), life-sized portraits of people’s pets, as well as human beings. I have always enjoyed the challenge of a portrait or specific customer request. In 1983 after a move to Cape May, NJ, I decided on a drastic career change and became a Registered Nurse and subsequently, a Nurse Practitioner. I loved my nursing career, but it left me very little time to be artistically creative. Now that I have retired, I am once again able to pursue my first passion...sculpture!”
